Job summary
Michelle Denny Recruitment is avidly looking for a Compliance Officer for a Diss financial organisation salary banding is £37,000 - £40,000pa with working hours of 8.30am 5pm, Monday to Friday, which can be on a hybrid basis.So, are you a skilled Compliance Officer with experience in either financial services or insurance? Do you possess a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and a passion for ensuring ethical and compliant practices within the industry? If so, we have an opportunity for you to join a small but dynamic compliance team.
Reporting to the Compliance Manager, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the organisation's compliance program, particularly concerning Data Protection. You will work collaboratively with all departments to identify, assess, and mitigate risks while ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
We have a detailed job description available but, in the meantime, here are the Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date with relevant financial services and insurance regulations, particularly in regarding to DP and assist implementations necessary to maintain compliance.
Data Protection: providing advice on privacy, data-sharing and data transfer issues; managing Access Requests; documents reviews, DP Impact Assessment management
Policy Development: Assistance with maintenance of compliance policies and procedures tailored to the unique requirements of both financial services and insurance operations.
Audit & Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential compliance vulnerabilities and recommend ways to mitigate them.
Training and Education: Train, coach and support employees on data protection compliance requirements.
Reporting: Prepare MI compliance reports, highlighting areas of concern and proposed solutions, providing real-time compliance advice.
Monitoring and Testing: Maintain robust monitoring and testing program to ensure ongoing compliance with regulations.
Audit Preparation: Assist with external and internal audits, ensuring a seamless process and positive outcomes.
What youll need:
* Experience in working in a compliance role
* Solid understanding of relevant financial/insurance relevant legislation including UK GDPR
* Comprehensive communication skills with the ability to simplify and effectively convey applicable legislation, regulations and policies
* Experience in report writing, policy production and trend analysis, with highly analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Readiness to travel to other group offices on an occasional and adhoc basis
