Calibration Lab Supervisor (Elec bias) with recent experience of working to ISO 17025 standards & UKAS audits is required for a permanent role in the Derby, East Midlands area. £30,000 - £38,000 pa (DoE) + benefits The Electrical Calibration Lab Supervisor will be working Mon - Fri Days, circa 40 hours (flexible working times).

Outline of role: As Calibration Laboratory Supervisor you will play a crucial role in the Company's operations, ensuring UKAS compliance and audits, mentoring staff and advising on possible areas to expand calibration scope.

The successful Calibration Lab Supervisor / Senior Calibration Engineer (Elec Bias) day to day duties will include:

Manage the Laboratory, ensuring staff are operating to a high standard whilst delivering production and turnaround of services within client's and the companies' requirements (agreed KPIs
Ensure continual compliance to ISO 17025:2017 and ISO 9001; this includes ensuring records for proficiency checks (interpersonal & interlaboratory), uncertainty budgets, procedures, standards, calibration certificate templates and equipment records (return to service checks) and environmental records are up to date, compliant and filed correctly
Advise and develop new areas to increase the scope of our electrical calibration offering
Train and mentor technicians, trainees and apprentices
Provide technical support to other staff, customers, and suppliers, advising where necessary
Management of staff within the department including inducting, training and mentoring.

To be suitable for this Calibration Lab Supervisor / Calibration Team Leader (Elec Bias) role you must have the following experience / characteristics:

Ideally will have completed a relevant electrical engineering apprenticeship.
Calibrated electrical equipment to UKAS standards.
Experience of UKAS Audits.
Ability to solve complex calibration problems which requires deep technical knowledge.
Must be PC literate - MS 365, particularly MS Excel and able to use computerised calibration records / spreadsheets, able to import / export data and alter / use formulas on spreadsheets, pivot tables etc.
Must be able to interpret electrical engineering drawing.
Highly organised, with high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

The ideal Electrical Calibration Supervisor / Calibration Team Leader will have the following experience and skills:

Proven track record as Head of Laboratory (Electrical)
Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering discipline ideally equivalent to HND or higher.
Working knowledge of quality systems ISO 17025
Ability to read, understand and create uncertainty budgets.
Knowledge of Windows-based laboratory automation software such as MetCAL, InGAGE, ProCal, SureCal etc.
Experience of staff training / mentoring.
Held UKAS signatory status (Desirable)
Able to interpret electrical engineering drawing (Desirable)
