Job summary
Core teachers are working closely with a primary school in the M23 Wythenshawe area to find them a teaching assistant to support a pupil in year 4 with special educational needs.Role
The school are looking for someone to support on a 1:1 basis with a young girl with ADHD and SEMH needs, she will be returning to school from an alternative provision where she has made excellent progress.
You will get to spend time at the provision learning the strategies that have worked tremendously for her with the team there and then get to use them in the primary school with the support of the team around you.
The pupil is a loving, bright and trusting individual who really values the relationships she makes however she struggles to regulate her emotions. She may speak negatively and act out when she is struggling to channel them correctly or understand how she is feeling, as her 1:1 support you will build a rapport with her and get to know her so you can help her make the correct choices, use positive words and express herself in the right way. There has been a huge difference with her, and some outstanding progress made from her time in the alternative setting, and she is ready to integrate back into the mainstream school and be with her class again.
This role will be:
* Monday to Friday each week
* 8:45am until 3:15pm-30 minutes dinner break
* Based in KS2 Year 4
* 1:1 support
It will be beneficial if you have had experience working with and supporting:
* SEN/SEMH
* ADHD
* Behavioural needs
* Emotional dysregulation
