Our client has been building their strong reputation within mechanical and electrical installations nationally for over 40 years with a healthy turn-over exceeding £75m. Operating across three divisions they deliver a full range of services from concept and design through to construction, maintenance and security across a range of projects which include retail, storage, industrial, commercial office, healthcare, education and residential. As part of their continued success in winning new work, which has seen them already secure their target turnover for 2024, this project is a new-build healthcare scheme near Camberley. As part of a phased construction programme, this is the first new wing comprised of a diagnostics centre and intensive care unit with an M&E value of £10m (circa £6m Mech and £4m Elec). The scope of work covers what is typically associated with a hospital project and includes, lighting, small power, fire alarms, security, ventilation, heating & cooling, medical gasses and ancillary items. Due to the scale of the project the majority of the mechanical and the specialist electrical elements will be subbed out. The project is due to go live in April 2024 with a build program of 10 months, but preconstruction will start in January. This is a hybrid role which will be a combination of site and home, with the pre-construction phase run out of their Epsom office.
The successful Mechanical Project Manager will need to demonstrate successful delivery on either healthcare, or alternatively on large complex projects. Typical responsibilities include handling the programming, managing the finances and variation accounts, health and safety as well as providing a snag free delivery. In addition, you will be client facing and as such be comfortable with client liaison/being the main point of contact ensuring handover with final accounts and that all O&Ms are completed. Lastly, due to a significant amount of the project being subbed out, you will require a proven track record in managing sub-contractors and their delivery.
Please note that previous UK experience is essential, along with having a relevant mechanical qualification and background
Benefits: car allowance + package
