Job summary
Position Purpose and Summary:To support the Engineering Team Leader to carry out effective maintenance to a high and safe standard across the site. Your input in the role will help produce quality products, which meet customer requirements on time and to specification, in a safe and efficient manner to agreed cost standards.
The position works on a 4 on 4 off shift patterns comprising of 2, 12-hour day shifts (6:45am to 7pm) and 2, 12-hour night shifts. (6:45pm to 7am); We offer highly competitive salary plus comprehensive benefits package including contributory pension and enhanced holiday entitlement and, a clear path of progression to Senior Shift Engineer, Engineering Team Leader, Reliability Engineer.
The successful individual we are looking is preferred to have some experience or familiarity working in the food industry; however, training is provided, and we are open for the individual with the right attitude and set of skills and experience.
Principal Accountabilities:
* responsible for the lines and processing equipment, as well as assisting with site services equipment as needed, by assisting the Engineering and Operations Management Teams in ensuring safe plants and safe systems of work, aiming to achieve a safe working environment, and maintain compliance with the highest of local, national, European, or corporate standards.
* to ensure there is clear & consistent communication, leadership of shift operations, including downtime monitoring, targeting tasks, resource planning and scheduling, auditing.
* to follow a management of process, check sheets, maintaining a food-safe environment, subscribing to housekeeping & safety standards leadership & auditing, manage and control of contractors & suppliers, engineering permits, and shift hand-over coordination.
Experience and Skills
* Relevant engineering experience (mechanical or electrical bias) of working within a team
* Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation (Including COSHH - Control of Substances Hazardous for Health, RIDDOR - Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations)
* Knowledge of Food Hygiene and food safety legislation, Risk Assessment PUWER - Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations, Shire Pirana CMMS - Computerized Maintenance Management System
* Basic Food Hygiene certificate / NVQ Level 2 in Food Manufacturing or experience (or equivalent) in warehouse or food manufacturing
* Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point)
* IT/PC literate, Interpersonal communication, self-motivation, eager to learn and able to work on own initiative, with capability of working as part of a shift/team
