Job summary
A leading Berkshire charity is now looking for a Registered Nurse (RN Adult) to join the team in delivering kind, compassionate and fully holistic care to local people with life-limiting illnesses such as late-stage cancers, organ failure, and degenerative conditions, as well as practical and emotional wellbeing support to carers and loved ones. The charity provides a full range of adult palliative and end-of-life services both at their state-of-the-art, Outstanding-rated Maidenhead site and within patients own homes. With their specialist inpatient, day therapy, bereavement support and new Virtual Ward services, the charity is able to provide safe, agile, and comprehensive care wherever it is needed.
In this role, you will join the MDT in providing hospice-at-home / Virtual Ward wraparound services, enabling more people to receive the flexible care they need with the comfort of home rather than requiring a formal inpatient admission. You will have a high degree of autonomy and variety in this role as you visit patients directly, supporting a round-the-clock clinical service that safely and effectively manages symptoms, preserves dignity, and optimises quality of life.
Previous palliative care experience is not essential as an excellent induction and training programme will help you to develop your clinical skills in this specialism. Newly-qualified Registered Nurses are very welcome to join as part of the Preceptorship Programme.
This is a permanent position for a Registered Nurse; full-time and part-time contracts up to 37.5h can be considered. As it is community-based, you will need access to personal transportation for this role.
