In this role, you will take charge of leading and coordinating the technical aspects of projects, ensuring a high level of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility. Project coordination, client and stakeholder collaboration, and showcasing the company's capabilities to potential clients in and around Oxford, will also be integral to your responsibilities.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
1. Executing professional directives while overseeing additional resources when necessary, including sub-consultants and support personnel.
2. Offering guidance and assistance across a diverse array of arboricultural tasks, ensuring top-tier service to both our existing and prospective clientele, as well as fulfilling key directives.
3. Resolving issues related to trees on development sites, including compliance with BS:5837 standards, conducting tree assessments, offering design guidance, aiding in the planning process, and executing tree protection and mitigation schemes.
4. Collaborating with the broader team to provide support for development and environmental projects.
5. Participating in discussions with the board and senior management team regarding business strategy, marketing, and innovative approaches to new work opportunities.
6. Managing tree-related risks by formulating management strategies, and policies, conducting tree surveys, and providing recommendations for necessary corrective actions.
7. Navigating the legal aspects of trees, including advising on Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs), Conservation Areas, boundary tree matters, and assisting in resolving disputes.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Successful candidates should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
Essential:
1. Possess a degree in arboriculture or a closely related field, coupled with a strong theoretical and practical foundation in arboriculture.
2. Accumulate a minimum of 5 years of consultancy experience, including significant client-facing responsibilities.
3. Demonstrate exceptional report writing skills and proficiency in both written and oral communication.
4. Exhibit numerical proficiency and proficiency in utilizing various software packages.
5. Display a keen eye for detail.
6. Showcase a track record of effectively managing projects and clients.
7. Prove the ability to perform well under pressure, manage priorities, and meet multiple deadlines.
8. Collaborate effectively within a team and exhibit a genuine commitment to environmental sustainability.
9. Possess a valid UK driver's license.
Desirable:
1. Familiarity with AutoCAD/GIS mapping software is advantageous.
2. Full membership in the Institute of Chartered Foresters or registration as a Consultant with the Arboricultural Association is a plus.
