Job summary
Providing systems engineering expertise for medical electronicsAs part of an engineering team, the Electronics Engineer will work on projects for development and support of medical electronics including robotic systems. This can include microprocessors, sensors, video, power electronics and motor drives, as well as analogue and digital designs and FPGAs. Responsibilities will cover prototyping and testing electronics designs (including EMC testing and compliance), integrated PCB design and layout processes, as well as close collaborative work with mechanical, software and manufacturing engineers.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience with electronics including strong understanding of electronic engineering fundamentals applied to complex systems applications. This should include familiarity with digital circuit design processes and relevant tools for schematic capture and circuit design.
- Experience working on industry projects within an electronics lab including use of common lab testing equipment. Ideally this should include EMC testing.
- Experience with analogue electronics will be beneficial.
- Further desirables include: Design for Manufacture (DfM), programmable logic (FPGAs), embedded and scripting (C and Python), and exposure to medical standards and processes.
Applicants are expected to have a degree in electronics or systems engineering. Only applicants with full, unrestricted rights to work in the UK will be considered. The position will be mostly onsite (due to the nature of the work) but some hybrid working could be possible.
