Job summary
Our NHS client in the South East is looking for an experienced Head of Finance Business Partnering to cover for 3-6 months whilst they recruit substantively.The postholder will work with one of the largest trusts in the country, covering this newly recreated position.
The successful candidate will be fully qualified with a proven track record of leading financial management/business partnering teams within the NHS.
You will be able to hit the ground running and be responsible for the management and performance of the Business Partnering function provided to a small portfolio of Operational and Corporate Directorates. This will involve providing high quality financial leadership working closely alongside the operational team to support delivery of the Trust objectives.
Key responsibilities:
* Responsible for delivery of the senior partnering function providing future focussed decision support, technical financial advice, business intelligence and reports to management to enable them to effectively manage resources for their area of responsibility.
* Building effective relationships, internally and externally, to effectively influence and challenge performance, strategy, decision-making and outcomes.
* Lead the use of financial and operational management information to review, assess and forecast unit performance.
* Lead the production of multi-layer forecasts of Trust financial performance at all points in time, ensuring incorporation of the effects of all risks, opportunities and actions being taken across the Trust.
* Identify and highlight quickly and appropriately any evidence and/or risk of divergence from financial plans, targets or forecasts at any level in the Trust and work with management to develop mitigations to return performance to plan/forecast.
* Responsible for the monthly review of the Trusts financial performance at all levels within deadlines and make recommendations on actions to ensure that financial performance meets targets and is fully understood and agreed by relevant stakeholders.
* Support the Director of Finance and Chief Financial Officer to hold divisions and corporate directorate budget holders to account through formal periodic reviews of all financial performance.
* Corporate reporting including identification and quantification of risk responsible for compiling and agreeing with other senior finance staff the content of Board, Sustainability Committee, Trust Executive Committee and other internal reports.
They offer a flexible, hybrid working arrangement with sites based at Brighton, Worthing and Chichester, and are ideally looking for candidates who can commit to working on site at least once a week, although this can be flexible.
