This role requires some travel, usually 1-2 days per week travelling to either CGI office or client site in Bridgend.
Your future duties and responsibilities
The main objectives of the role are to implement network changes that achieve a high level of client satisfaction, delivering on time, within budget and to a high standard. As Network Engineer, you will install network and security devices, configure and troubleshoot any issues resulting from changes on commercial and secure clients in the UK CGI Data Centres and on UK client sites.
You will be working in a dynamic and challenging environment with a pedigree of networking excellence. The successful candidate will work on their own initiative, liaising with project and change requestors to achieve client deadlines and demonstrate client facing, customer service skills. The role offers career progression pathway to a Senior Network Engineer role involved with more complex projects and new business transitions, contributing to the network design.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Strong familiarity and subject matter expertise in relation to Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Change Control, Implementation, Documentation
Ideally relevant qualifications and sufficient experience in relation to the above
LAN/WAN / Firewalls / CCNA.
Experienced in Telecoms implementation.
Advanced Cisco IOS skills & experience
Strong familiarity with a wide range of Firewall vendors (Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Palo Alto, McAfee)
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, sub-netting, IP address allocation & management
Strong understanding of ITIL and change management methodology
WAN installation/migration experience
This role has SC clearance as mandatory due to the nature of the work. To apply, you must be willing and able to undergo the UK's vetting process.
