Smile Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a Leicester secondary schools, who require additional support in their inclusion department. The schoolS are keen to meet Teaching Assistants to work with a small number of their SEN pupils in Key Stage 3, on a long-term basis.
This is an extremely rewarding position as the pupils will hopefully grow under the guidance of dedicated support. However, this is not a position for everyone, ideally candidates need to have had previous experience of working with special educational needs and challenging behaviour, not limited to a school setting.
The school would like to meet candidates that are happy to work on a long-term basis in order for the pupils to form strong working relationships and trust with the recruited Teaching Assistants.
Full support will be given from the schools SEN department and dedicated SENCo who are there to provide training and guidance in the best way to be effective. Most importantly, they are there to instil a real love of working with and developing pupils who require additional support. The days activities will largely be governed by the needs of the individual pupils you work with, but will include small group sessions, one-to-ones as well as whole class support. If youre a psychology graduate looking to gain experience en-route to becoming an Educational Psychologist this could be the perfect role for you. This role can work around your schedule, so do not hesitate to apply if you are not available full-time.
