Job summary
A rare opportunity has arisen with our client based at their impressive site in Telford for a Moulding Engineer. An experienced, hands-on project/ process engineer with expertise in Moulding. This position is offered as a full-time, permanent position. Working a day shift with the working hours of 08:15 17:00 Monday Thursday and 08:15 12:15 on a Friday. The salary bracket for this role is £38,000 £44,000 depending on experience, plus benefits.The Company

The Role
The role will primarily involve managing projects within the moulding area including automation. New Product Introduction/ New Model introduction experience is preferred. Ideally also someone with experience of CAPEX, machine specification, de-moulding automation cells and dealing with third party suppliers. Within this role you will work as part of the Moulding Engineering team supporting all aspects of the moulding areas.
Requirements within the role
* Providing technical leadership on assigned projects from within the organisation
* Developing project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management and creating feasibility studies (return on investment etc.)
* Assess production costs and other vital data pertaining to the project, ensuring that the project runs efficiently and on schedule
* Maintaining the project schedule by monitoring project process, coordinating activities, resolving problems. Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, planning and scheduling changes and recommending actions
* Ensures appropriate handover packages are compiled, generated and transferred into manufacturing to ensure smooth handover and compliance in production
* Developing and improving production related processes (internal and external) to improve the efficiency and quality, cost, delivery and environmental targets
* Conducting process evaluations in accordance with internal procedures and external regulatory requirements
* Has an understanding of bespoke downstream automation, i.e. inline inspection and assembly processes

Qualifications & Experience
* Educated to HND/degree level or equivalent is essential. Preferably within an Engineering/ Technical discipline
* Demonstrable experience within a technical/ engineering role, preferably within moulding
* A working knowledge of design of experiments and statistical process control experience
* Ideal (but not essential) are formal relevant qualifications such as plastics processing and/or materials technology and a demonstrable track record of completing formal training in plastics processing (BPTA, G&A or equivalent)
