The Quantity Surveyor role
We currently have an opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor for a Design & Build contractor. As Quantity Surveyor the role will work underneath a Senior QS overseeing all commercial responsibilities for a £40 Million new build project in Birmingham. The project has been negotiated with one their key clients and there will be opportunities for further projects with the same client.

Quantity Surveyor role and responsibilities
The Quantity Surveyor position will be responsible to a Senior Quantity Surveyor overseeing the commercial and financial aspects of the project including:
* Use of company systems and processes and applying best practice
* Subcontractor procurement from enquiry to order placement
* Manage subcontractor accounts, payments, valuations and variations throughout the project life cycle
* Work closely with the Project Manager and operations teams
* Minimise costs and maximise cash flow
* Produce accurate and timely financial forecasts
* Liaise with and develop supplier and subcontractor relationships
* Manage risk throughout the project lifecycle
* Liaise with and develop client relationships
* Work with the Senior QS to produce final accounts

Requirements
Successful applicants will have a proven track record of undertaking the role of Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor who undertake projects of a similar size and nature. In addition successful applicants should hold an HNC or degree level qualification in a construction discipline.
