Job summary

An experienced Lead Electronics Engineer with a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering is needed to join our team at SET Limited based in Derby on a full-time basis.

Due to winning significant new business, we are looking for an enthusiastic Electronics Engineer to lead and drive fault-finding and repair investigations at our facility in Derby.

As the most senior engineer, you will be supported by the Operations Manager, the R&D Engineers and the Technical Director.

SET is a Derby-based SME; we are a leading resolution provider for faults presenting in ageing and obsolete electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, predominantly in the rail industry.

We cover a broad range of scales and technologies - from magnetic amplifiers to microprocessors and millivolts to megawatts. We are also an active developer of innovative rail traction solutions, working with major train OEMs on next-generation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Investigating reliability issues on customers' equipment
Implement new repair line processes
Developing bespoke test equipment.
Provide technical guidance to Repair Technicians
Provide hands-on support as required
Required Experience:

Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering or time-served experience
Analogue and digital electronics design
Electronics bench testing and fault finding
PCB design
Full driving licence
