Job summary
We are currently recruiting for a Oracle Database Administrator to join a busy and expanding employee owned business.As the Database Administrator (DBA) you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organisation's database systems to ensure they operate efficiently, securely, and reliably. You will also work closely with the Software Engineering team and various stakeholders to design, implement, and manage database solutions that support business operations and growth objectives.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Install, configure and upgrade database systems including mainly Oracle databases but also SQL databases
Cloud solutions
Backup and recovery
Performance Tuning
Database security
Database upgrades and patch management
Industry Certifications such as OCP / Oracle Certified Professional or Microsoft Certified Azure Database Administrator would be beneficial. As this company is growing their CI / CD and DevOps improvement programme experience in this area would be highly desirable but not essential.
Any experience with Linux based operating systems would also be advantageous as would past leadership skills as you will also be responsible for a Database Application Developer.
This role will be based from the Kettering office on a hybrid basis working 1-2 days per week in the office.
