Job Responsibilities
Duties:
* Manage a caseload of learners working towards their NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety, ensuring they receive regular and effective support throughout their qualification journey.
* Oversee and conduct assessments of learners practical skills and theoretical knowledge in the realm of health and safety.
* Utilise a range of assessment methods, including direct observation, professional discussions, witness testimonials and learners reflections.
* Provide constructive feedback and guidance to learners, helping them improve their health and safety competencies.
* Create individual learning plans and revise them according to the learners progress and changing needs.
* Ensure all assessment activities are fully compliant with Phoenix HSC quality assurance processes and the requirements of the relevant regulatory bodies.
* Maintain accurate and timely records of assessment activities, learners progress and the evidence gathered.
* Support the development of new training materials and methodologies to keep abreast of best practices in health and safety education.
* Managing a team of assessors, including leading/supporting the recruitment and selection process.
* Collaborate with fellow assessors, tutors, and management to ensure the continuous improvement of the NVQ programme.
* Manage and maintain accreditation with Phoenixs NVQ awarding body.
Experience required:
* A minimum of 5 years experience in the health and safety sector, preferably within a relevant management role.
* Previous experience in NVQ Assessment
* In-depth understanding of the NVQ assessment process
* Experience of being an NVQ Centre-Coordinator
* Excellent communication, coaching and mentoring skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and virtual learning platforms
Training/Qualifications required:
* GradIOSH status or ability to gain upon joining
* Certified NVQ level 6 in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
* Assessor qualification (D32/33, A1, TAQA or L3 Award in Assessing Work based Competence)
* IQA qualification (D34, V1 or L4 Award in Internal Quality assurance)
