Job Profile for Business Development Manager - Steel Doors - MC(phone number removed)Business Development Manager required for a steel door manufacturer based in Ashford. The successful candidate will have experience with steel door set BDM / sales. The role will assume responsibility for the Development of New and Existing Business with focus on forging relationships across the spectrum of markets that the company operate in.
This position represents the conduit between Sales field and Sales office and specifically will be the first point of contact for procuring business and critical relationships with clients, suppliers and competitors in order to form strong market intelligence.
These activities will develop Sales opportunities, joint ventures, growth strategy as well as servicing the company's loyal customer base, and is therefore very much networking driven. The attendance of exhibitions, meetings and occasional travel abroad will also form part of the visibility for this key role.
Due to the nature of the position, it will naturally influence and impact the Sales Budgets of each sector and this link must be transparent to understand the origins of business development and how key relationships trace back to tangible Sales. Therefore, the recording of visits, meetings and potential is vital to understand and forecast business levels, and critically this is communicated back to the Sales Office to ensure there is a "Heads Up" approach ensuring internal service levels complement the field work undertaken by the BDM.
The post will work closely with the Group Commercial and Technical Director, ensuring pricing, contractual, Business Terms and Service levels are in sync with external activities or requirements.
The role will have full access of the Sales admin team in which to coordinate any specific tasks required such as mailshots, updates etc and will also have some involvement with the marketing side for market sector specific awareness.
Business Development Manager - Steel Doors Position Overview
To Develop, Cultivate, Build, Forge key relationships and alliances with Clients (New and Existing), Suppliers (New and Existing), Competitors with a view of procuring new Business opportunities which will ultimately convert into Sales or revenue streams.
Working closely with the GC&TD to ensure required prices, discounts, service levels, technical details, contractual terms, trading terms etc are communicated and recorded in order to satisfy customer demand.
Gathering market intel from field activities which ensures accurate forecasting, potential Joint Ventures, Product Trends etc.
Promoting the Diverse range of products across the portfolio through the activities of the BDM which also includes export.
Highlighting and recommending exhibition attendance UK/Abroad and also ensuring adequate Budgets for other corporate client type events where required or planned.
Continued input and activity with Marketing needs, capturing key projects of interest and ensuring those projects are used in marketing campaigns, our websites, and social media platforms with post updates etc (in tandem with GC&TD)
Updating, Utilising and input of activity related results for both new and Known clients within the IMS to enhance the database. This will also include cherry picking any quotes of interest or values which you may wish to follow up in tandem with the relative sales sector consultant.
With the depth of industry and product knowledge, ensure there is adequate product information or promotional items at your disposal.
Producing a monthly report of activities (To be agreed in terms of format and content)
Other duties as deemed required or necessary by the GC&TD as part of this role and brief.

Salary Circa £66,000 per annum
KPI Objective Bonus potential earning capacity £25,000 per annum, bonus is paid quarterly.
