Our client based in Bedford are urgently seeking a SHE Advisor on a permanent basis. As a SHE Advisor reporting to the SHE Manager, you'll provide professional safety, health, and environmental (SHE) advice, supporting the development of the SHE Management system. Act as an advocate, influencing the SHE visions across the organization, embedding the SHE culture, and ensuring standards are met.
Due to the nature of the work, the successful candidate must satisfy security clearance requirements including the last 5 years continual UK residency.
Responsibilities:
Support the development, maintenance, and deployment of SHE management systems.
Provide comprehensive SHE advice to managers, aiding effective SHE management in their areas.
Conduct incident investigations, challenge and escalate concerns, and monitor action completion.
Perform internal audits for SHE regulatory compliance.
Assist in creating and reviewing risk assessments and method statements.
Conduct SHE training, including new starter inductions and toolbox talks.
Collaborate with stakeholders, influencing them to consider SHE factors in decision-making.
Requirements:
NEBOSH General and Environmental certificates or equivalents.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
Comprehensive understanding of SHE management standards, HSE regulations, and best practices.
Industry experience in heavy manufacturing; motors, hydraulics, high pressure environment, confined spaces.
Trained SHE auditor.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Strong relationship-building skills.
Familiarity with SHE management systems and excellent IT skills.
