Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Handyperson to join our team and undertake general maintenance duties at a School located on the borders of East London in Essex. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of the school premises. Responsibilities:
* Ensure maintenance of health and safety standards within the school.
* Maintain the safety, good operation of services, and cleanliness of the premises.
* Conduct emergency light testing and fire alarm checks.
* Monitor water temperature regularly.
* Inspect and maintain the security of doors, locks, and alarms on the premises.
* Perform general repairs and basic plumbing and electrical works (if qualified).
* Carry out decorating and minor refurbishment works to maintain the premises in good condition.
* Report any issues requiring specialist intervention.
* Collaborate with another Handyperson during cross-over shifts.
* Ensure the daily locking up of the premises.
Experience and Qualifications:
* Minimum of 2 years of Handyperson experience.
* Reliable and self-motivated.
* Good working knowledge of health and safety and compliance requirements.
* Possess a broad range of general skills.
* Organized and thorough in your work.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Valid enhanced DBS required
* Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience required
* License/Certification: Driving License (required, as the location is not well-served by public transport)
