Job summary

We are looking for a cafe assistant to join our team in Gateshead depot. This is a fantastic part-time opportunity offering a great range of benefits and weekday shifts.

As a cafe assistant, you will report to the cafe manager and assist with the preparation and sale of food and beverages and be expected to maintain a high standard of food hygiene and cleanliness of the cafe and facilities.

The main responsibilities of this cafe assistant role include are but not limited to:

Welcoming customers to the cafe.
Preparing and serving hot food and beverages.
Taking payments for goods.
Assisting with inventory and ordering goods if required.
Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment.
Upholding a high level of customer service.
Ensuring that health and safety rules are adhered to and any issues are reported.If you have experience in customer service and food preparation as a cafe assistant, catering assistant, barista, kitchen assistant, cafe server, cafe attendant, or in a similar role, apply today!

Additional Information

This role offers 16 hours per week, working Wednesday and Friday 7.45am to 15.45pm

Essential Skills

To carry out this role, we are looking for a candidate with:

Previous experience working in the food preparation and service industry.
A valid hygiene certificate.
A friendly persona who is enthusiastic about working in a busy cafe environment.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Flexibility to work additional hours to cover holidays throughout the year.
