Job summary
Zenith People are working with our client who are a Manufacturer based here in the North East and are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Team Leader/Lead Maintenance Technician on a permanent basis.Accountable for all maintenance activities and requirements within the business, the main purpose of the role is to lead, develop and motivate maintenance team members to ensure that agreed objectives are achieved, thereby contributing to the success of the Company.
You will also be responsible for ensuring the plant and facilities are legally compliant, all statutory checks and maintenance is performed, and any resulting actions are dealt with in an appropriate timeframe.
Other Responsibilities are as follows:-
* To undertake facilities, mechanical and electrical maintenance engineering activities, ensuring the maximum provision of plant, facilities and assets
* Responsible for the ongoing development of a proactive, safe, effective, and efficient maintenance program. Ensuring health and safety are paramount in how the team delivers its objectives.
* Deputise for the Maintenance Engineering Manager.
* Comply with all company Policy and Protocols.
* Ensure that there are safe working procedures established and implemented to cover all maintenance operations.
* Responsible for control of team members holidays and managing absence in accordance with policy.
* Implement and manage personal objectives for the maintenance engineering team to ensure they are motivated and trained to deliver at the highest levels.
* Define effective maintenance programmes that focus on planned preventative maintenance, and to deliver such programs where cost savings can be measured as a result.
* Liaise with Production to provide planned maintenance activities.
* Ensure that Permits to Work are in place prior to proceeding for relevant tasks.
* Ensure a robust System is in place and is strictly adhered to when required.
* Set, Deliver, and Measure against OEE (Overall equipment effectiveness)targets.
* Manage the departments costs within agreed budgets.
* Ensure critical spares are identified and readily available.
* Perform & Support Risk Assessment process.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping and hygiene.
* Manage the Maintenance Request system ensuring any repairs are carried out promptly.
* Investigate breakdowns thoroughly and put in place appropriate actions to prevent reoccurrence.
* Highlight risks to operational performance related with site equipment and facilities
* Ensure all contractors are monitored, suitably qualified, RAMS are provided & approved, and competent to perform the required services.
* Full record keeping of maintenance activities, and analysis of trends to facilitate continuous improvement and justify future improvement programs.
Knowledge, skills, and experience required:-
Essential:
*Experience of managing a multi-disciplined maintenance team
*Completed a recognized Electro / Mechanical apprenticeship and educated to ONC/HNC level.
*Demonstrable experience of driving and improving performance
*Able to read, understand and interpret electrical, mechanic, and hydraulic schematic drawings.
*Fault finding in complex systems.
*Problem Solving by gathering and understanding relevant information in a systematic way. To analyse the results to determine root causes, and put in place preventative measure where cost effective.
*Knowledge of Electrical, PLC, Pneumatic, and hydraulic systems / equipment.
*High level of written & verbal communication skills, both in one to one and in a group setting.
*Full UK Driving Licence.
*IT literate and confident in the use of Microsoft Office programs.
*Understanding the impact of their role and issues their department has on Quality, Cost, Service, and Delivery.

*Use of metrics to drive improvement.
DAY SHIFT MONDAY TO FRIDAY 39 HOURS PER WEEK WITH A 1PM FINISH ON A FRIDAY
Working hours 8am 5pm
