Demolition Operations Manager

Job overview

We are currently looking for an Operations Manager to oversee all functions in the demolition division of the company. Reporting to the Managing Director, the purpose of the role will be to develop and oversee the management of all aspects of contracts, from tenders, through to ensuring completion of the work safely, to time and budget. The client is looking for someone who is invested in the long-term future of the company and its success.

Essential qualities include the ability to manage client relations, team management and supplier management with a motivation to continuously improve all aspects of the operation and quality of service delivery.

About the company

The company are a well established contractor having been operating for over 20 years. They have various parts to the business including demolition, waste management, aggregates and earthworks. Responsibilities

Undertake full responsibility for the P&L of contracts
Oversee projects from tender and pricing stages through to planning, project management, delivery and hand over
Undertake site measures in accordance with contract requirements
Ensure compliance with all H&S Procedures and Plans.
Manage and maintain equipment and plant requirement programme
Anticipate and identify key issues affecting contract objectives and priorities
Develop strategies and solutions associated with the project, and manage their implementation, optimising cost, schedule and performance activities
Attend client program meetings & agree timelines
Provide interface point for client.
Ensure that adequate resources are available for the work to be progressed in accordance with the programme.
Liaise monthly with the Q.S. and commercial manager as required
Authority to develop and implement strategies to improve people management and daily operations on site
Be aware of the business continuity plan for the part of the business you work in Knowledge skills & experience

Previous experience within in similar senior management role in the demolition industry.
Ability to develop a growing demolition division
Commercial acumen
Excellent interpersonal communication & people management skills
An understanding of current health & safety legislation and accreditations
Ability to work to tight timescales & with a strong sense of self motivation
