Job Overview
You will be ultimately taking responsibility of the care and wellbeing of our residents which includes making sure their physical, emotional and social needs are met but also leading, motivating and mentoring your team of carers whilst delivering clinical guidance and coaching. Providing strong leadership will ensure smooth, safe and efficient running of the unit. Being able to promote all our residents' independence, dignity and choice is an extremely important to us and this will come naturally to you. Maintaining accurate records is very important and you will have an eye for detail to enable if any problems arise you are well equipped and ready to deal with this. You will have a strong professional judgement and will be able to make critical decisions
Responsibilities and Duties of the Job
A multi-service nursing and residential home, registered with the Care Quality Commission, to provide care and support to individuals with a wide range of support needs.
Located in Eccles, the home is divided into four separate units with emphasis on providing different types and levels of support, dependent upon the needs of the individuals.
We are seeking to grow the team with the addition of an ambitious and dedicated RGN/RMN with extensive experience in leadership and management, to take on the role of Unit Manager in one of the four units in Barton Brook. The post holder will influence, direct and lead the delivery of all actions required to meet the high standards and values of the organisation. This role will be 3 shifts working as a RGN/ RMN and 1 shift supernumerary.
The successful candidate will take responsibility and lead on a Unit leading the team and supporting individuals to achieve the best possible, person centered care. Although working under the guidance and support of a very experienced Home Manager, the successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running in a busy and complex environment. They will take responsibility for the management of the Unit, delegating responsibility and accountability where appropriate.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following competencies:
A balanced and considered approach where the interests of our residents always come first.
An understanding and experience of creating positive relationships with external parties.
High-level communication skills.
Ability to be self-motivated with good planning and organisational skills.
Able to work as part of a dedicated team to try to develop and improve the services we provide.In addition, this role will have a focus around the clinical governance of the service including:
Supporting the delivery of an integrated approach to patient care across all professions.
Identifying and addressing areas of clinical development across the service
Providing training from their own area of expertise.
Carrying out investigations and identifying root cause.
Oversee and coordinate clinical operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans for patients/residents.
Conduct regular assessments to monitor and improve the quality of care provided.
Have understanding of Continuing Healthcare processExperience:
