My client is seeking an experienced supervisor in a process plant, or factory environment to join their team in the Greater Manchester area. The successful candidate will help industries around the world adopt next-generation fuels (Aviation) and transition to a more sustainable and prosperous future.
Candidates with experience in the food, pharmaceutical, gas or oil industries stand in a good position.

Daily duties:
SHIFT WORK
Having responsibility for leading a small performance test team including a Scientist, three operators and a technical officer to deliver the safe and efficient operation of the process, plant for performance testing purposes only.
Holding shift start and handover briefings.
Plan and manage your team safely and efficiently to ensure continuous operation of the performance test, with proactive identification of potential breakdowns of the plant and equipment and will also undertake repairs with the on-call mechanical fitter and electrician and liaise with other Supervisors.
Assure adherence to the safe system of work, standard operating procedures, risk assessments, COSHH assessments, etc.
Operation of the fermenters and associated downstream equipment (e.g., CIP/SIP All-in-
Ones and glucose tank).
Assisting other operators if required with downstream processes (e.g., solid: liquid separation and solvent contacting and recovery processes).
Monitoring of equipment operation including data recording.
Handling of waste streams with the help of the Technical Officers.
Quality control and samplingRequirements:
Rights to work in the UK. British, Australian and European, Passport holders only
Full Driving licence.
Previous experiences as a shift supervisor in a process plant and or factory environment.
Experience with bioprocesses in academia or experience within the food/pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing industries.
Previous experience with in-line sterilization/cleaning systems.
Strong understanding of the safety regulatory landscape within the UK.
Exceptional attention to detail.
