Job summary
Exceptional unique business services organisation based in Wakefield currently have a truly exceptional opportunity for a career minded ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant to join them in a newly created role. This position will play a integral part in shaping the next few years of the companies growth and give the successful candidate unrivalled career development.Working directly with the Head of Financial Reporting your role will blend both the financial and commercial elements of finance including:
* Assist in the statutory consolidation of subsidiaries' results
* Support in the preparation of consolidated group accounts under IFRS, drafting disclosure working papers and preparing the initial draft of the accounts
* Draft extended trial balances and statutory disclosures for the various subsidiaries of the group
* Take ownership of the preparation of financial statements under FRS 101/FRS 102 for the various subsidiaries
* Take ownership of financial statements to support the group's corporation tax submissions
* Be a main point of contact for the statutory audit and manage the various stakeholders (external auditors, divisional finance managers and management experts)
* Drive timely submission of audit deliverables across the business through tight project management of the audit process
* Support on audit matters and technical accounting areas
* Assist in the implementation of a new accounts production package to be rolled out to support the statutory reporting process
* Support on driving a timely and accurate period end close, ensuring all businesses submit required templates on time and then input into consolidation of group results
* Support on ad-hoc projects and process improvements
* Identifying opportunities for the improvement of systems, processes and controls
Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the below qualifications/experience:
* CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified.
* Previous experience within audit/financial accounting within the profession OR Strong technical management accountant/financial accounting experience within fast paced dynamic organisations.
* Career focused and wanting to develop towards Financial Controller and beyond.
This would be an exceptional role for any ACA qualified looking to move into industry or a CIMA/ACCA accountant looking for a technical role that will fast track to Financial Controller.
