The responsibilities of this position will include, but not be limited to:
* Work with customer requirements/requests and deliver engineering solutions.
* Support electrical system design solutions to achieve customer requirements.
* Support test rig and test vehicle builds.
* Perform electrical system bench / vehicle tests and provide analysis on issues found.
* Work out solutions to engineering issues within the FutureMotiv EE team and report to the customer as required.
* Perform Simulations and Testing on Lab-car testing platform, Rigs and Vehicle as require
* Oversee and manage other test engineers and provide guidance and support.
Technical Documentation
To be responsible for generating all technical documentation necessary to verify the system and align with the gateway processes. This includes but is not limited to design validation plan (DVP), testing standards and software specifications, demonstrating compliance with technical specifications, DFMEA worksheets, functional safety work products. It is expected that the Electrical System test engineer shall be capable of autonomously reviewing requirements and generating test specification as required with minimal support required day-to-day outside of sign-off.
Testing of Electrical Control Systems
A lead role is required to support test spec generation for body control system, door functions, tailgate functions etc. The tests need to be generated which cross reference back to requirements. It will be required to liaise between the core body team in the USA and the software supplier based in the UK.
Software Definition and Requirements Capture
The test engineer is responsible for supporting capturing the software requirements within a specified toolchain (e.g. Jama) and ensuring the supplier product development to deliver software against the planned vehicle platform releases.
Further it is expected that the Electrical System test engineer shall be fully familiar with the definition and animation of body, door, window, locking, alarm system specifications. Additionally, the System test lead shall be fully familiar with the specification and creation of the above Electrical system test suites. The definition of test specifications mapped back to requirements and the methodical (preferably automated) execution of these test specifications.
Tier 1 Supplier Management
It is expected that the Electrical System test engineer will be required to engage directly with third party Tier 1 suppliers to take verification responsibility for the systems allocated to them. As such, it is a core requirement that the test engineer shall be a confident communicator on all technical topics and able to directly engage with third parties as a representative of FutureMotiv and its customers.
Requirements of the position are:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Technical attributes
Minimum 3 years (1 year for a junior/trainee role) of experience in automotive EE systems / component engineering, development & testing.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (or related professional accreditation).
Familiarity with automotive (OEM) specifications and standards.
Knowledge of body control system product development
Experience in the design, build and test of structures for body control system applications
Familiar with Engineering Diagnostic Tools.
Knowledge of lab-car development and simulation technics
Strong knowledge of Vector Canoe / Canalyser; Analysis of CAN, LIN, Ethernet communication busses.
Able to create the Simulation configuration on CANoe and CAPL scripting or similar to automate the testing.
Perform safety management activities to relevant standards during all project phases including preliminary hazard analysis, S/DFMEA, qualitative and quantitative fault tree analysis, safety goal generation.
Ensure effective communication, containment and action plans with regards to quality related issues.
Support effective root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions are implemented for quality issues.
