Band 7 or Band 8A Psychologist- RemoteWe are looking to cover a placement for a Band 7 or Band 8A Psychologist, to start ASAP until end of June 2024. Working Mon-Fri 9-5. This placement will largely be remote work but you will also need to be able to work from the C&E Centre in Chelmsford ocassionaly
The Psychology in Probation Offender Personality Disorder (PiP OPD) service is a partnership between adult mental health and probation services. It consists of a small team of psychologists, an Occupational Therapist and other probation staff providing support, training, consultation and advice to probation practitioners who work with offenders identified as having a likely or diagnosed personality disorder. The post holder will work alongside psychology colleagues, specialist Offender Managers (OM), and other probation staff in the management of this challenging group of individuals.
The role focuses on working as a team on the development and maintenance of a psychologically informed workforce across the probation service and it involves a considerable amount of teaching, formulation sharing, reflective group facilitation and joint case management. The post also involves direct input into the service users care through tailored assessment and intervention (when there is scope and need for direct intervention).
Key duties of the post holder also include liaising with a number of agencies across Essex and providing them with specialist psychological advice.
Other duties include regular and systematic undertaking of clinically relevant research and audits, which are essential for the continuation of the project, and communicating these outcomes to senior management and commissioners on a quarterly basis.
The role includes the supervision and management of assistant psychologists.
Travelling across Essex is part of the role, with occasional journeys to other regions in the country for training events and conferences. However, there is also the flexibility to work from home often work remotely.
