Job summary

Part of a major international group, this organisation has recently won several significant new automotive business and is seeking an additional Launch Manager for a fixed 12 month duration to for delivering a robust manufacturing process and achieving PSW.

Location: West Midlands (commutable from Wolverhampton, Bridgnorth, Stafford, Walsall, Telford, Shrewsbury areas)
As the Launch Manager you will be responsible for managing the handover of new product from the design phase into manufacturing ensuring that all required information is available to the production teams. You will manage both internal and external stakeholders ensuring tooling and equipment arrives on time and is fit for purpose. Ensure training material is available, SOP are robust and the manufacturing teams are well prepared for the start of production minimising the ramp plan.
Duties:
o Lead Launch / Pre production activity to achieve timely PSW sign off o Support PPAP and drive all planning, development and problem solving relating to the launch o Lead APQP / PPAP meetings, driving accountability o Ensure delivery of customer requirements (achievement of 100% PIST, TYE, Capability) o Complete adherence audits to identify gaps for customer witnessed PSW runs o Interrogate PSW related documentation to identify gaps / non- conformities o Ensure all process documentation conforms to IATF standards
Experience:
You will already have significant experience in a Launch Manager, Senior Launch Engineer or NPI Project Manager capacity within the automotive industry, either OEM or Tier 1 supplier:
o Experience of leading new product introduction activity and working on the shop floor to successfully manage out problems and road blocks across manufacturing, equipment, tooling & process issues o Full understanding of PPAP, APQP and PSW process to launch a new product onto production
o Knowledge of complex manufacturing processes such as casting, metal stamping, injection moulding or similar process incorporating material and tooling costs
o Analytical with good judgement, commercial business sense and problem solving skills
o Relation builder with good communications skills with both internal and external stakeholders
o Structured worker with good time management and project management abilityy
