About The RoleMorrison Energy Services is recruiting for a General Foreman to work on our Transmission Networks projects across the UK.
As a General Foreman you will be part of our Site Project Team who are responsible for the planning and delivery of OHL refurbishment projects.
The General Foreman is responsible for the Technical Governance on allocated schemes.
Resident on project, the General Foreman is responsible for assisting the Site Manager in coordinating the resources allocated to ensure that the projects are delivered to program and in a cost-effective manner without compromise on Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.
The General Foreman must work within established company procedures, promote company values and standards and exhibit appropriate behaviour in accordance with company ethos maintaining excellent levels of communication throughout
The General Foreman role involves supporting all departments in their deliverables including but not limited to bids, procurement, design, innovation, planning, NDC, SHEQS as well as operations.
As the General Foreman your responsibilities will include:
SHEQS
Lead by example in health, safety, quality and compliance through regular site visits and weekly recorded inspections in line with the project audit schedule
Alongside the SEs and PEs ensure QA hold points within the project ITPs are adhered and carryout QA checks on a minimum of 10% of works complete within the contracts agreed client timescales
Actively encourage SCRs and SOR reporting across all roles on project. Record and submit weekly via the project SHEQS team
Attend at least 1 of the weekly safety call meetings per month
Assist with carrying out investigations as required by internal and external (Client) procedures.
Supporting Bids Department
Provide technical support & determine safe & efficient delivery solutions through innovation including the development of sub-contractor solutions
Attend site walk overs with clients, sub-contractors and bids departments as required to assist in project development
Provide resource and productivity guidelines to the Bids department in the preparation of tenders.
Assist the bids team to develop schemes to ensure that what is submitted is an actual reliable, deliverable, cost effective & efficient programme.
Produce project F2s for allocated schemes - Ensuring that requirements for Plant/equipment is researched to ensure an accurate order is placed.
Project Delivery
Assist the Site Manager in coordinating the resources allocated, to ensure that the projects are delivered to program and in a cost-effective manner without compromise on Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.
Assist the SM and PEs as a subject matter expert by developing/producing and maintaining project specific documentation such as Project Method Statements, Project Work Instructions and Risk Assessments and providing responses to queries relating to the same from Design
Assist the SM and PEs as a subject matter expert by developing and producing TWDBs (Temporary Works Design Briefs) for activities involving Skysafe, Cranes, MEWPs and Telehandlers on allocated schemes and providing responses to queries relating to the same from Design
Assist the SM and PEs in the production and checking of project IVPs (Impressed Voltage Plans)
Ensure Foreman, Linesman and Driver Teams are working in accordance with all relevant HSE MP (Health and Safety Management Procedure) including but not limited to Setting to Works, WAH, Temporary Works, Lifting Operations, PUWER, Risk Assessment Impressed Voltage
Ensure Foreman, Linesman and Driver Teams have and are working to the latest project documents within their SSWPs including but not limited to PMS, PWIs, IVP, EP, EMP, Tower Hazard Plans and Design Drawings
Undertake the role of Task Allocator for Site Drivers in accordance with the Setting to Work Procedure. Plan, co-ordinate, manage resources required to complete works in an efficient and compliant manner.
Liaising with the Site Manager on the requirement for any client specific safety documentation such as Permits, Certificates, etc.
Attend daily and weekly site meetings with staff, clients and sub-contractors as required
Acting as MEWP and or Telehandler Co-ordinator on projects as required
Design/Innovation
Liaison and support with/to the Design department on technical aspects of pre-constructions planning and during the delivery stages of the construction works
Ensure any changes in construction methodology are communicated to design and approval is received prior to works taking place
Work with and Assist the Innovation Team on trials and feedback on new equipment & methodology solutions
Attend Project Design meetings as required.NDC Plant and Equipment
Produce project F2s for allocated schemes - Ensuring that requirements for Plant/equipment is researched to ensure an accurate order is placed.
Manage changes in plant and equipment during the project delivery stages via submission of F4s through the PM/SM and MC
Work with and Assist the Plant and Equipment department on trials and feedback on new and old plant and equipment.Planning/Resource
During the project keep log of actual durations vs planned and feedback to the SM and Planners as required
Assist in identifying solutions following changes affecting the planned programme
Use talent and ability to encourage achievement and continuous improvement within the Foreman, Linesman and Drivers and support the Resource Manager and Site Manager in the completion of PDRs.General
To carry out any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs. Skills & Knowledge Requirements

Understanding of the principles of CDM
Overhead Line design knowledge
Knowledge & practical experience of working under clients Safety Rules
Ability to operate a broad range of plant & equipment required on Transmission & Distribution projects
Significant experience of managing teams / gangs / working parties engaged in Transmission and / or Distribution overhead line projects
Extensive experience of working/Managing wiring gangs for a minimum of 5 years.
Recognised H&S qualification; NEBOSH, IOSH or similarAdditional Information
