Great opportunity to work with this exciting NHS trust within their Estates directorate as an Asset Manager specialising as a business Analyst that will work with the health planning and property team to analyse utilisation data and synthesise with asset management knowledge to enable us to develop strategic estates rationalisation plans.The post holder will work closely with all members of the Health Planning and Property Team to gather, analyse and interpret data to identify how space planning could use utilisation data along with intelligence about work styles to replan space around activity and reduce void and under-utilised space in its buildings. Whilst supporting the work of the team as a whole, the main focus of this role will be on the strategic and major change projects that the team are delivering and/or are supporting. The post holder will ensure that proposed strategic change is planned in the light of best available data and is as evidence based and tested as possible within financial and other constraints impacting on strategic change management.
The post holder will provide expertise, leadership and capacity in managing and delivering data analysis and feed into planning/ change projects working alongside designated Senior Responsible Officers and Project Sponsors.
The postholder will be responsible for:
Analysing data on space utilisation to establish how to 'right size' accommodation to meet business needs whilst achieving a high degree of utilisation.
Work with clinical, operational and corporate teams to understand 'soft' data on the facilities that teams require to perform effectively.
Look at property data to identify opportunities for estate rationalisation and transformation.
Apply health planning and process flow mapping principles to determine optimum configuration in space transformation projects.
Assist in the preparation of Business Cases for service schemes and undertake feasibility studies on options as required.
Support major change planning through the modelling of proposed options/solutions to ensure potential changes are tested against requirements, making best use of available data.
The post holder will play a key role in identifying opportunities for substantial improvement in space utilisation overall to enable the team to deliver its efficiency and cost saving targets, whilst also providing opportunities to deliver improvements that benefit patients, staff and other stakeholders.
The post holder will also work as a key member of the Health Planning and Property Team in proposing alternative space configurations based on activity, highlighting any necessary changes to working practices that will be required to support greater efficiency overall
. Main responsibilities
The post holder will be based in the Health Planning & Property Team within Estates and Facilities. Core duties will include:
Business analytics
Interpret space utilisation data to identify opportunities toreplan andrestack Trust office accommodation to improve utilisation. This will include:
Identifying gaps between actual and target utilisation
Looking at variability in use patterns
Drill down into specific team needs to understand what kind of space teams need and when they need it
Establish key relationships between different teams in a facility and functional requirements for teams, both in clinical and corporate office settings
Interpret asset management information that will include lease end/break dates, cost of occupancy and building performance information to determine options for estate rationalisation targets
Develop activity-based accommodation requirements to ensure improved capacity and flow within buildings and more effective use of space that will, in turn enable the rationalisation of Trust estate
Identify other requirements (such as implementation of smart booking or other changes in space use policy and practice) required to deliver change.
Space planning and management
Making use of asset management systems and utilisation data determine options for meeting space need and developing proposals.
Where required liaise with Asset Management colleagues within the Health Planning and Property Team to determine quantum and typology of accommodation need and to support the wider team in the consideration of options for changing property requirements (new accommodation, property rationalisation and space reconfiguration).
Support preparation of business cases (Trust internal business cases).
Support the development of space management projects to help ensure improved utilisation of the Trust estate.
Develop engagement plans to support changes to space planning and management
Work with the space planning project managers to develop decant and phasing proposals to support implementation of changes.Required qualifications/ Experience:
Degree in IT/digital/ business analytics/ information analysis or other numerate discipline with transferable skills or equivalent level knowledge with equivalent experience.
Post graduate diploma or equivalent specialist knowledge/experience
Membership of an appropriate professional organisation.
Experience of business analytics, preferably in the field of space utilsiation
Significant experience in a similar role
Have significant experience of manging multiple areas of work from inception through to completion.
Demonstrate sound mathematical and statistical analytical skills
Have experience of business analytics, particularly in relation to productivity and asset utilisation
