One of the UKs most prominent professional services companies working in partnership with North Tyneside Council to deliver a range of technical services, such as engineering; property; planning; building control and public protection is looking for a Site Engineer, Highways Engineer, Construction Engineer to manage the technical and quality aspects of projects within North Tyneside Highways Construction.
Key to this role will be the accurate and safe delivery of setting out on a project in line with the contract drawings with a keen eye to identify issues before and/or as the arise.
This role will be site based on site at Tyneside Councils offices, however, travelling will be required to other business offices and Client offices.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities

Manage activities and resources to meet the demands of the project
Identify and manage technical issues on site and be able to accurately display this information on technical queries.
Lead by example when maintaining and complying with systems for managing site health and safety and welfare.
Support others to provide information on methods and programmes to enable the successful completion of the works.
Effectively communicate with the workforce to ensure that the information provided is interpreted correctly.
Ensure accurate and detailed records are kept whilst ensuring the project filing systems are up to date.
Manage underground/overhead services and ensure that the Capita safe digging procedures are followed
Essential Skills & Experience
Site, Highways Engineer Highways Construction CSCS, SSSTS
Qualification in Civil Engineering
A good knowledge/experience of highways works which include drainage, paving, kerbs, high spec paving and highways management.
Ability to plan works and understand activity durations to meet targets.
Ability to use Microsoft Office and Excel
Some knowledge of the operation of AutoCAD
CSCS
SSSTS or equivalent construction management knowledge and experience
Minimum 5 years construction experience
Full driving licence
