Job summary
Linear are working alongside a housebuilder with a great reputation in the market, who is looking for a Senior Buyer/ Buyer to join their growing team.As a Buyer, you will provide assistance to the Buyer/ Buying Manager in the scheduling, purchasing and management of materials for our outstanding developments.
Key duties and requirements
* Creating/Maintaining Material Schedules and provide material budgets for all current house types.
* Procurement of Materials.
* Assisting with monthly valuations and stock control on site.
* Assisting with invoice queries with the Accounts team.
* Experience of online purchasing systems.
* Working with Sales on Plot Improvement Upgrades / Customer Choices / Sales incentives, raising any additional supplier orders for these works to be carried out.
* Processing & logging site requisitions.
* Negotiating prices with suppliers.
* Forecasting material prices to assist Commercial Manager on overall Project Cash Flows.
* Register, cost and process invoices matching to orders for payment.
* Liaise with Site Managers and various members of Management for invoice approval.
* Liaising with Suppliers re payments queries etc.
* Set up and Process new Suppliers.
* Maintain Purchase Ledger Database.
The Candidate
* Knowledge of the procurement of materials
* Experience in working within New Build Housing
* A full UK driving licence
* Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
* A good level of commercial awareness
* Ability to work under own initiative and manage time effectively
* Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements
