Location: Carrier Rental Systems (Uk) Limited in Livingston EH54 9BL

Duration: Permanent

Hours: 40 hour per week, with on-call rotational shifts

Salary: £30,160

The Role

To Service and maintain all equipment to a high standard ready for hire, maintaining the plant equipment to a high standard within the Depot which in turn will improve revenue whilst Keeping the Depot a safe and tidy place to work for all employees and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities To include, but not limited to:

Servicing of plant equipment, specifically Repair and maintenance of pumps and generators
Service off-hired equipment ready for rehire
Service equipment on customer sites and to respond to call-outs where required and deal with issues that arise
Work with the Depot Foreman / Manager to act quickly where problems arise within the depot and ensure the consistent resolution of problems.
Work closely with the Hire Controller, Driver and Fitters to ensure all hires proceed smoothly
Service, repair and overhaul equipment and associated components within the depot, at customer premises and or third party sites.
Assess off-hired pumps and generators and judge the level of repair needed
Assist with the loading and unloading of pumps and generators onto the lorry for deliveries through the use of Hi-Ab Lorry Mounted Crane and Forklift Truck
Be on the 24 Hour on-call service rota within the depot
Ensure all equipment is serviced and maintained to a high standard
Report any major problems within the equipment to the Foreman/Depot Supervisor
Ensure adherence to all Company Policies and Procedures and Health and Safety Procedures within the workshop
Complete quarterly ethics module as advised by Ethics & Compliance Officer (ECO)
Fully comply with all Quality, Environmental Health and Safety directives including but not limited to PPE, Accident Reporting, Cardinal Rules, Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS), and Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE).Candidate Qualifications / Experience:

NVQ3 Mechanical Qualification or time served mechanical apprenticeship
Proven Service Engineer Experience
Good working knowledge of plant equipment specifically diesel engines
