The Health and Safety Manager has a broad responsibility of all aspects of Health and Safety within the Company including all works on and off clients sites.
The role has the responsibility for the formulation and management of all specific risk assessments and method statements and the delivery of these documents to sites well in advance of the scheduled work
Working very closely with the Operations Manager and all other senior managers, the aim is to achieve the highest standards of professionalism both inside the business and in the service that we offer to our clients
* The formulation and provision of specific Risk Assessment and Method Statements for all work carried out by the company. This is to include any non-standard work
* Ensuring the business is legally compliant with all health and safety legislation
* Reviewing all Health and Safety current regulations to ensure compliance and Implement change in order to meet all new regulations
* To provide a portfolio of all required health and safety documentation. Such documentation to be kept up to date and duly signed off where required
* To carry out regular auditing of the business premises, store rooms and work areas and organising works to improve these areas where necessary
* To carry out recognised training, accredited and in-house, to all prospective new and current employees
* Work with and train all employees and teams to manage, monitor and improve health and safety standards in all workplaces and other areas of the business
* To be responsible for all safety inspections in the vehicles and workplaces, and improve where necessary
* To visit clients sites on a regular basis to monitor team performance and adherence to required standards; meet with the site contact ensuring that the site is satisfied with the on-going and completed work
* To create and manage health and safety monitoring, offering general health and safety advice to all employees
* To ensure that company owned and hired equipment and machinery is compliant and in a good state of repair in order to avoid hazards and avoid delays on sites due to faulty or missing equipment
* To ensure that all required face-fit testing is carried out as per regulatory standard
* To carry out regular kit inspections to maintain compliance with recognised and regulatory safety standards
* Wherever possible, advise on the possibility of an emergency occurring anywhere within the business and carry out measures to prevent such from occurring.
* Ensure that company premises are in a good sate of repair and cleanliness and free from hazardous substances which may be chemical, physical, or biological
* Organizing drills for members of staff and to train them on the appropriate response in case of an emergency
* Assessing and analyzing the possibility of a fire outbreak in the organizations premises and the ability of the organization to respond adequately to it, putting in place such measures as to reduce the likelihood of a fire occurring
* Consider and suggests ways to recycle waste products; to appropriately dispose of them; and to ensure a reduction in the production and discharge of waste
* Attend, support, and provide input into regular weekly management team meetings
