Your new role (Head of Finance)
The key responsibilities of the finance team are:
* Supporting month end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
* Ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance
* Preparing, checking and submitting payroll data
* Improving the overall control framework
* Delivering change and bringing the accounts in-house
* Supporting the CFO on strategic projects

The Head of Finance has two direct reports (Finance Managers) and four indirect reports (junior finance support). There will be some travel required between Liverpool and Sheffield.
Although this is a fixed term contract until June 2025, subject to the continuation of funding it will be extended. This Charity has been operating since 2005 so it has a proven track record of successfully gaining multi-year funding for the vitally important work they do.

Skills and experience to be successful
* A qualified Chartered Accountant
* Control - liaising with external auditors, balance sheet reconciliations
* Reporting - Statutory, Regulatory and internal Board
* Business partnering - MI, budgets and KPI
* Driving change - improving the overall performance and output of the finance function
* Financial systems - ensuring the systems support the on-going Charity requirements
* Payroll
The Interview Process
* 60 minute TEAMS interview with the CFO & one other person
* 60 minute face to face meeting with two C suite employees
