Teaching AssistantAre you a passionate Teaching Assistant looking to have a positive impact on the lives of students with social, emotional, and mental health needs?
Smile Education are currently recruiting on behald of a wonderful special educational needs (SEN) school situated in the heart of the Leicestershire countryside. The pupils in the school all have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, meaning that they struggle to manage their emotions/behaviour, so they need additional support to access education. The school are currently undergoing a period of growth, and they are looking to recruit several Teaching Assistants to support this process.
This is an extremely rewarding position as you will be providing crucial support for children with additional needs and helping them to achieve their potential.
SEMH Teaching Assistant
Long-term, full-time role immediate start
£80-£100 per day, dependant on experience
SEN school situated in the Leicestershire countryside
The school itself is set in 27-ares of Leicestershire countryside and is home to some fantastic purpose-built facilities. The school follows a varied curriculum, with a focus on developing emotional resilience and preparing students for the world of work. The school is currently undergoing a period of growth, so this is an exciting time to join the team as an SEMH Teaching Assistant.
As a Teaching Assistant you will
Assist the classroom teacher as well as providing 1-to-1 and small group support.
Help to create a welcoming and inviting learning environment.
Tailor your support to the individual needs of pupils.
Support and encourage students and be empathetic to the challenges they face.
What are we looking for?
Be proactive, and willing to get stuck in and help out
A positive mindset, and a genuine commitment to supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs
Previous experience supporting individuals with social, emotional, and mental health needs
NVQ Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant/related Qualification or degree in Psychology/Special Educational Needs or related subject
A driving license and access to a car is essential - the school is based over two sites and there way be some travel between the sites involved
