Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Year 1Location: South Liverpool Primary School
Are you an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in a child's education? South Liverpool Primary School is seeking a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a boy in Year 1 with autism. This role is available for an immediate start and will continue until the end of the academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
Individualised Support: Provide one-to-one assistance to a Year 1 student with autism, ensuring a tailored and inclusive learning experience.
Curriculum Adaptation: Work closely with the class teacher to adapt and implement the curriculum to meet the specific needs of the student.
Behavioural Support: Implement effective strategies to manage and support the student's behavior, fostering a positive and conducive learning environment.
Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to provide updates on the student's progress and any challenges faced.
Resource Creation: Assist in the development and preparation of materials and resources to support the student's learning objectives.
Requirements:
Teaching Assistant Qualification: Possess a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
Experience with Autism: Demonstrate a minimum of 1 years of experience working with children with autism. Understanding of autism spectrum disorders is essential.
Adaptability: Be adaptable to the changing needs of the student and responsive to feedback from the school's SENCO and teaching staff.
Empathy and Patience: Exhibit a patient and empathetic approach when working with the student, fostering a supportive and nurturing relationship.
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff to create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
