Now in their next stage of growth they are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Design Engineer

Job Overview:

This position will be responsible for researching and developing concept design for alternative, clean Energy technologies. To research, analyse, design, simulate, designs from concept to manufactured systems ready for testing and commissioning. To support and analyse calculations and data sets for concept design in accordance with the relevant codes and standards. Applies engineering principles based on assigned engineering domain (e.g. mechanical; electrical, chemical, etc). To build and support the R&D Product development engineering team through great communication and have regular internal and external meetings.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

* Work with along side the R&D team and application Engineering team to conceptualise and develop propriety technologies including pressure vessel design, Thermodynamic problem solving and particle gas separation technologies.

* Researching and application of applicable codes and standards, including and not limited to ASME section 8 Div1, Div 2, B31,3, B31.12. Developing solutions and product specifications by analyzing performance and customer output requirements.

* To Investigates design factors such as function, materials, performance, interchangeability, cost, operational efficiency, and contractual requirements.

* Performs feasibility and development studies applying standard analytical methods; including FEA and CFD simulations (Ansys) leading to recommendations & solutions which are defined and reviewed for implementation.

* Interprets and validates test results for accuracy and precision. Ensures conformance to product qualification procedures and parameters to achieve customer requirements, life characteristics and safety standards. May utilize and interpret predictive models to simulate and verify design concepts.

* Provides technical information for review with product engineering teams using established engineering practices, standards, and documentation methods (e.g. structured design process; customer design reviews). Writes supporting documentation for procedures and technical reports; may assist in writing technical proposals for customers.

* Contributes to the completion milestones associated with specific projects (e.g. create functional diagram, 3d CAD and system layouts; review detailed drawings and schematics; define data structure, interfaces and programming logic; analyze material requirements; research customer data item requirements

CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE

* The ideal candidate for this role will have the following experience and capabilities:

* Meng/MSc in mechanical engineering

* BEng in mechanical engineering + 10 years experience

* Minimum 10 yrs experience in a R&D background.

* Possesses thorough knowledge of the technical engineering discipline or domain, and products or systems, Good Fabrication, Precision machining knowledge preferred.

* Experience in New Product Design (NPD) programs and innovation preferred.

* Strong communications skills with experience presenting to internal and external customers.

* At least 3 years experience of ANSYS FEA and Ansys Fluent and CAE softwares

* Experience of working in a laboratory and Test environment supporting test teams and problem solving

* 3 yrs experience using Autodesk inventor, vault software.

* 3yrs experience with pressure vessel/piping design.

* Ability to work with general objectives regarding projects and team goals; applies judgment in selecting procedures and techniques that should be applied. Works collaboratively in a team environment.

* Ability to effectively communicate status, actions, recommendations, and other technical information with clarity and precision
