Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a Toolmaker to join a multi-talented team of CAD Designers and Toolmakers within a business that specialise in new injection mould tool manufacture, tooling repairs and modifications.A great opportunity for a CNC Machinist / Trainee Toolmaker who would like to further develop their skillset, with a business offering extensive investment in their employees career paths, including funded NVQ qualifications.
As a Toolmaker, your duties will include -
Trainee applicants are welcomed, with the roles duties ultimately including;
The manufacture, service, repair and modification of injection mould tools of up to 2.0 tons in weight
Methodical dismantling of injection mould tools
Assessing customer tools and components, investigating the best course of action for repairing or modifying
Methodically dismantling injection mould tools
Liaising with the toolroom manager to plan and prioritise the workload around the companies needs and requirements
We are keen to hear from any applicants with -
A mechanical engineering qualification, toolmaker apprenticeship or equivalent
Experience in repairing and maintaining injection mould tools OR experience in CNC machining - EDM (wire erosion, spark erosion and hole drilling)
Exposure to CAD and 3D modelling (Visi, NCG Cam, Machining Strategist) would be advantageous
Competence in the use of manual and standard toolroom equipment (lathes, mills, surface grinders, cylindrical grinders, manual spark eroder)
An ability to read and understand to drawings and models in both 2D and 3D
On offer for the successful Toolmaker -
A salary £30K - 38K depending on experience (Trainee applicants are welcomed)
08:00-17:00 Mon to Thursday and 08:00-14:30 Fridays
Development opportunities (e.g. NVQ Toolmaker qualifications)
21 days paid holiday + bank holidays
