An exciting new opportunity for a Credit Controller has opened with a leading Engineering & Manufacturing company based in Surrey!
As a Credit Controller you will be working in a dynamic environment, engaging with a wide portfolio of customers and internal business units to ensure smooth functioning of all credit control areas.
The role will also include processing and completing letters of credit, guarantees and related finance export documents. Specific training will be provided for the financial instruments requirement.
Responsibilities:
The role is Hybrid: split between working in the office and from home.
Review customer invoice requests to ensure that taxes, specific contract requirements etc. are dealt with correctly.
Reconcile and manage selected customer accounts, resolve queries and arrange offsets as applicable.
Work closely with accounts Payable staff to ensure offset transactions are properly booked & reconciled.
Chase customers for payment by any appropriate means
Resolve queries with customers.
Issue customer statements.
Maintain customer contact records.
Carry out credit checks on customers.
Complete applications for bank guarantee accurately and in a timely manner.
Negotiate letters of credit, checking all information thoroughly to ensure there are no errors and what is presented is evaluated and validated correctly in the interests of the company and its policies. Participate in activities related to Sarbannes Oxley (SOX) internal controls, and external audit controls in connection with customers, invoicing etc.
Raise customer invoices, credit notes, pro forma and/or inter-company debit notes.
Ad hoc requests as required.Candidate Requirements
Accurate with significant quantities of detailed items, articulate, extremely numerate and logical
Demonstrate an aptitude for business process management, definition and improvement activities
Self-motivated, ambitious, keen to learn, and make efficiency improvements to processes
Able to work in an organised manner, either alone and as part of team as the situation dictates; acting with initiative and confidence in a frequently changing work environment

Knowledge, Training and Qualifications if required:
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word and able to perform analyses - essential
Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping - an advantage
