Job summary
This is a rare opportunity to work in-house / client-side for a well-established property development and construction business.You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of properties including offices, industrial, residential and office-to-residential conversions; with projects usually within a 1-hour radius of the office.
You will be exposed to a range of work including development opportunities; maintenance and refurbishment projects; and professional building surveying.
You will have the opportunity to innovate and challenge existing processes as you seek constant improvement and adapt to new challenges. This would ideally suit a self-motivated individual who is proactive in fulfilling obligations across multiple projects. The successful candidate will need to collaborate with the wider property team to ensure a holistic approach to problem-solving
Detailed Responsibilities :
- The management and delivery of development opportunities.
- Acting as the Employers Agents or Contract Administrator.
- Project management of all works associated with Internal refurbishments, building extensions and full redevelopment.
- Drafting specifications and managing the production of drawings.
- Appointment of consultants
- Oversee all aspects of Health and Safety.
- Dilapidations: Responsible for producing interim and terminal schedules of dilapidations and negotiating with the outgoing tenant or their advisor
- Building Pathology: identifying the cause of problems within a building and specifying a practical and economical solution
- Building surveys for acquisitions
- Party Wall Agreements
- Landlord's periodic inspections
- Reviewing proposed Tenant Alterations
- Planning Applications
To be considered you must be:
- MRICS (strongly preferable)
- Experience in commercial building surveying, ideally from the private sector.
- Experience with development opportunities, maintenance and refurbishment projects, and professional building surveying work
