TeacherActive are looking to recruit a confident and experienced Cover Supervisor to help support our schools in Caerphilly and the surrounding area to cover classes in the absence of their regular teaching staff. The role will involve working with a range of different classes and age ranges on a daily basis, so being adaptable and calm under pressure are important qualities for this position. The perfect Cover Supervisor for our schools will be someone who is confident at managing behaviour, and who can act as a positive role model for the students under their care.

The ideal Cover Supervisor will have the following:

CACHE LEVEL 3 / HTLA Qualification / 6 months experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and/or challenging behaviour.
Confidence in their ability to manage a whole class of students within the age range 11 to 16+.
The ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with young people.
The ability to manage behaviour in the classroom to ensure students remain engaged in set work.
The ability to engage well with lower ability pupils and offer extra support.
The flexibility to work throughout the school within different departments and with different age ranges daily.
Successful applicants will be required to complete an enhanced DBS disclosure and provide at least 2 references, including one reference from an educational setting.
