Job details:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for providing mechanical engineering expertise from project inception to completion, ensuring the successful design and construction of packaging machinery, automation equipment, jigs, and fixtures to meet client requirements. Your role encompasses a range of tasks, including:
Main Tasks:
-Collaborate in the creation of User Requirement Specifications and translate them into comprehensive Design Specifications.
-Design components, mechanisms, and assemblies using SolidWorks to meet Design Specification requirements, considering cost-effectiveness and quality.
-Generate CAD drawings with appropriate tolerances and manufacturing instructions, adhering to internal document control procedures.
-Manage sub-contract manufacturing of components and procurement of purchased parts.
-Create and upload Bill of Materials (BOMs) into the company's Business Management System (BMS).
-Innovate and provide engineering solutions to machine design challenges.
-Conduct research on processes with uncertainty and validate concepts with prototypes as needed.
-Participate in machine functionality testing and coordinate machine commissioning.
-Produce mechanical documentation, including Technical Files, Operator Instructions, and Maintenance Instructions.
- Ensure projects meet expected performance standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Education at the degree level in design, engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software or similar.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft, Outlook, and FileMaker.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of automation design and workshop machinery.
- Keen attention to detail with effective problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with medical / food and beverage packaging
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Capacity to follow instructions and prioritize tasks efficiently to meet deadlines.
