Job summary
Position: Finance Project ManagerStart Date: 13/11/2023 - End Date: 09/02/2024. With the possibility of an extension.
Pay Rate: £400.00 Per Day PAYE or £448.00 Per Day UMBRELLA
Weekly Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Hours: 09:00 AM - 05:30 PM
Location: LE67 3FJ
Role Overview:
The purpose of the post is to provide high-quality finance project support for the council, aligning with the delivery of the Corporate Strategy and the service plans for both the Finance and Performance team and the other service areas
Key Responsibilities:
Provide effective project management of a core NWLDC project; the implementation of the corporate finance system and the associated business transformation.
Support the mapping and benchmarking of user journeys, to generate business efficiency and transformation.
Capture, present and produce detailed business requirements to support product design and specification.
Matrix management of internal resources such as Digital Transformation Officers and business area specialists to achieve the project objectives.
Work alongside the software supplier's project manager(s) and account manager(s), ensuring delivery of the project according to the project plan.
Manage and maintain the project plan, RAID log, and other key project artefacts, by project management best practice.
Provide regular reporting to the project board(s) via checkpoint, highlight and exception reporting.
Provide an adaptable approach to project management and transition from traditional to agile delivery dependent on business needs.
Identify and communicate project risks, concerns and issues and escalate to the project board(s).
Understand, prioritise and manage the changes to scope, timescales, costs and resourcingQualifications and Skills:
Minimum of AAT qualification
CCAB Qualified/ or in the final year of qualification
CIPFA qualification is Desirable
A broad range of experience in a public service accountancy environment
Experience in providing financial advice and support to operational staff and senior management
Experience in writing reports
In-depth knowledge of accounting and financial management regulations and practice
Experience in managing resources including staff management
