About the Role:
In this key role, you will play a crucial part in expanding the company's specialist expertise in groundwater assessment. Your responsibilities will include team management, technical oversight, and the development of new products and services. You will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to the preparation and review of technical interpretative reports on groundwater and environmental risk.
This position requires a minimum of five years' industry experience, preferably as a consultant or within a Local Authority or the Environment Agency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Write and review technical interpretative reports on groundwater and environmental risk, including flooding and drainage, and provide guidance to junior consultants as needed.
* Support the company's commercial development plans, actively seeking new clients, securing work, and achieving business development revenue targets.
* Attend meetings as a representative of the company.
* Engage in external consultations with regulatory bodies, such as Local Authorities and the Environment Agency.
* Manage client accounts, ensuring a thorough understanding of their requirements and taking responsibility for delivering on these needs.
* Prepare and review project proposals.
* Efficiently manage projects, overseeing required time inputs, and ensuring delivery within budget constraints.
* Undertake occasional business development travel and site walkovers as necessary.
Role competencies and experience:
* An appropriate geoscience degree and postgraduate qualification.
* Working towards or have a professional accreditation.
* Management experience of working with small teams and projects.
* A good understanding of the sales process in environmental consultancy.
* Strong communicator willing to attend client meetings, holds a driving license.
* Experience in technical report writing, reviewing and project management.
* Innovative outlook and ability to commercialise technical ideas.
* Experience of writing and reviewing Basement Impact Assessments (BIA).
