We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Head of Business and Economics Teacher to join our school's leadership team.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Business and Economics department, overseeing curriculum development, instructional practices, and assessment strategies.
Develop and implement a comprehensive and engaging curriculum that aligns with educational standards and prepares students for success in the business and technology-driven world.
Lead, mentor, and support a team of Business and Economics teachers, providing guidance, professional development opportunities, and fostering a collaborative and innovative teaching environment.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure cross-curricular connections and promote interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
Teach engaging and interactive lessons to students, utilizing a variety of teaching methodologies, technologies, and real-world examples to enhance learning outcomes.
Foster entrepreneurial and business acumen by introducing students to key business principles, concepts, and strategies, and encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Teach and develop students' computational thinking, coding, and digital literacy skills through computer science and technology-focused lessons.
Stay updated with current trends, advancements, and best practices in business, computing, and educational technology, integrating relevant tools and resources into teaching practices.
Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes, and provide timely feedback to students, parents, and stakeholders.
Collaborate with the school leadership team in the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives, policies, and strategies.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, guardians, and external partners to enhance the educational experience and provide networking opportunities for students.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Teaching certification or license in Business Education, Economics, or a relevant subject area.
Substantial experience in teaching Business and/or Economics at the secondary level.
Proven leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to inspire and lead a team.
In-depth knowledge of business concepts, principles, and practices, as well as computing and digital technologies.
Familiarity with educational technology tools, platforms, and programming languages.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and stakeholders.
Dedication to ongoing professional development and a commitment to staying current with industry trends and advancements.
