Job summary
What you need to know about the roleAs Health and Safety Facilitator you will support the line management in the development, implementation, monitoring and administration of the sites continuous H&S enhancement strategy. You will establish systems and procedures for setting and monitoring progress at team and plant level in order that H&S improvement processes can be validated.
Defining, together with the Operations Manager, clear responsibilities for the reliable undertaking and completion of continuous improvement activities in Health and Safety whilst promoting local targets and strategies for continual improvement in Health & Safety effectiveness in order to encourage ownership at all levels of the organisation.
You will work closely with the Operations Manager/General Manager to identify the resources required to support the improvement of Health & Safety and continuous improvement activities in order to influence their availability through budgets. You will promote the development of individual capability to identify, assess and control risks in order that the department can progressively move toward an accident free working environment.
What we need to know about you
We are looking for someone who is passionate about Health and Safety and is willing to challenge people at all levels within the business to work towards and improve health and safety results.
You need to be someone who is extremely well organised and able to work under pressure, to tight timescales.
Applicants are expected to possess proficient computer skills, demonstrating a strong command of Microsoft applications, databases and related software.
Were looking for people with relevant vocational qualifications such as NEBOSH Certificate and other relevant health and safety qualifications. An outline knowledge of health and safety process and underpinning legislation applicable to manufacturing environments would be an advantage.
Communication is vital to the success of this role whether it be organising document control and retention or presenting relevant health and safety data to stakeholders.
