A well-known and reputable services business near to Halifax, is recruiting a Credit Controller to join their fast-paced finance team. On offer is a salary of up to £28,000, alongside excellent benefits. Within a commutable distance of both Halifax and Huddersfield, this is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic business. The company offer real opportunities to develop and progress with the chance to develop into a senior role over time and to learn from an extremely experienced and personable Credit Manager.This is an end-to-end credit-based role where building up relationships and providing excellent customer service is key. The role is focused on intercompany balance reconciliations, creation of new customer accounts and escalating debts to debt collection agencies if required.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to join a leading business who will offer the successful candidate a full training and development programme from the start.
Reporting into the Credit Manager, key responsibilities for the Credit Controller will include:
Building relationships to ensure cash collection on a day to day basis, both over the phone and via email
Dealing with queries and any problematic accounts
Checking company credit scores and reviewing applications
Setting up terms and conditions of credit
Working towards clear collection targets and processes
Daily posting and allocating of receipts, bank reconciliation and processing of sales invoices
Weekly sales reconciliation and month-end reporting
External reporting
Managing the month end close process for accounts receivableThe successful Credit Controller will have an excellent telephone manner with strong customer service and negotiation skills and will have proven experience within all aspects of the credit control process.
To be successful in this Credit Controller role, individuals will ideally:
Have previous end to end credit control experience (3-5 years)
Be able to work towards targets and deadlines whilst retaining a high level of customer service
Have strong IT skills and will be comfortable with Excel
Be enthusiastic, confident and keen to learn new skills
Be able to work in a fast paced, ever changed environment
Be competent with Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables
