Salisbury Cathedral School is a day and preparatory school for boys and girls aged 3-13 years old. Closely aligned to Salisbury Cathedral there is a real focus on music, including teaching the child choristers from the Cathedral.

The successful Estates Manager will be able to problem solve, use their initiative and be able to hit the ground running. They will be able to build positive relationships at all levels including with the management team of the Cathedral.
The building is a Grade 1 listed building which presents its own challenges. Managing a team of 2 Maintenance people you will be able to delegate a job list daily and ensure that those are completed but without micromanaging.
The school has a new compliance system and part of this role will be to manage this project so a good level of IT/Technology knowledge would be great. Candidates should also be good with Word and Excel and be able to implement new processes and communicate these to the wider team.

The Head of Estates is a vital role and as such will see the successful person: -
* Have previous experience in estate, facilities, property management, project management and/or construction
* Be Tech/IT savvy
* Ideally have some H&S experience and/or qualifications would be an advantage
* Proven track record of financial management and planning
* Understand the importance of Safeguarding & Child Protection
* You will need to have real strengths in planning and organisation, and good project management skills and you must be able to demonstrate these in your previous career
* An eye for detail and high expectations of the appearance and standards of upkeep of both grounds and buildings
* Strong leadership and people management skills, including effective delegation, communication, and performance management
* When the need arises, be willing to get involved directly (hands on) with the maintenance and grounds to assist and support the Team, for example when there is an emergency, helping with an event or moving materials
* Excellent communication skills, and able to fit in to and engage with the wider School community, including developing good working relationships with the Grounds and Maintenance staff, the Bursar, the Head and their Deputies, the IT Support and with contractors and suppliers.

The role holder will need to be available and willing to attend out of hours emergencies and events as part of the emergency rota and resourcing plan to support these activities
