Job summary
M4 are currently working with a worldwide organisation specialising in the design and manufacture of digital display solutions who are looking for a Logistics and Purchasing Co-ordinator to join them on a 12 month fixed contract.This is a full time position working Monday to Friday.
The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
* Arranging shipments as required (UK, Europe, and International) ensuring value for money and ensuring correct paperwork is raised to facilitate
* Understanding, identifying and implementing legislative, regulatory, UK Government and HMRC changes whilst adapting processes to ensure compliance
* Attending operational meetings, providing relevant updates/feedback on key work themes
* Providing management with relevant updates reports as required
* Tracking and reporting on relevant metrics and KPIs
* Improving effectiveness of purchasing and logistics processes
* Negotiating with suppliers and recommend changes to reduce costs
* Assessing, managing, and mitigating risks relating to supply chain
* Assisting in delivering the companys environmental policy, specifically relating to supply chain and materials
* Using MRP system to identify and process orders in a timely fashion
* Progressing open purchase orders on suppliers, ensuring order acknowledgments are received and items are delivered within required timescales
* Booking in stock, assisting with queries and processing paperwork in line with company policy and procedures
* Maintaining stock records, including but not limited to setup new part numbers, ensure stock accuracy, location, lead time, supplier details, pricing, stock take
* Ensuring that materials purchased meet the correct specification, including recognised quality/safety standards
* Maintaining a supplier and customer database to ensure contacts and companies are recorded and can be easily located
* Creating and maintaining BOMs and production orders for projects and orders as required
* Requesting and maintaining insurance cover for Debtors, including data submissions, regular reviews, and invoice approvals via an online portal
Requirements
* Previous experience in freight and logistics
* Experience of HMR, imports and exports to and from the UK
* Experience of Material requirements planning (MRP)
* Experience of enterprise resource planning (ERP) Systems
* Strong IT skills
* Experience in a similar role
